eCAADe Regional International Symposium
In addition to the annual conference, eCAADe also holds a Regional International Symposium, which is hosted by a different University each year. The conference is midyear, between December and May, and the contributions are published as a Workshop Proceedings booklet and on CD-ROM. Contributions to workshops will be catalogued by the CUMINCAD project (Cumulative Index on CAD).
The 4th eCAADe Regional International Symposium, Between Computational Models and Performative Capacities, will be held at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia between 19th – 20th May 2016.
Previous eCAADe Regional International Symposiums have been held at the School of Design – Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2014, Bialystok University of Technology, Poland in 2014 and in Porto, Portugal in 2013.
The goal of the symposium is to take eCAADe to regions that have never hosted an eCAADe conference in the past. The symposium should promote eCAADe’s goal of fostering high quality teaching and research in such regions and help the eCAADe organisation to get acquainted with people and schools who might be willing to organise the eCAADe conference in the future.
The symposium should take one or two days and it may include lectures and hands-on sessions on any of the topics that are relevant to CAAD teaching and research. eCAADe will contribute to this effort by helping to establish the programme and give some financial support to help securing the participation of one speaker from the established eCAADe universe.
People and schools interested in organising an eCAADe Symposium should submit a proposal to the eCAADe Council.
The proposal should include:
- The name of the school where the symposium will take place;
- The name of the group of people organising the symposium;
- The tentative programme for the symposium;
- The budget, including the amount required from eCAADe and the purpose.
The deadline for submitting the proposal is July 1st each year.
The decision of the eCAADe Council regarding which proposal to support will be announced at the AGM meeting at the end of the eCAADe conference in September each year.
